- Plan, implement and evaluate play-based learning experiences that promote children's development across cognitive, social, emotional, physical and creative domains
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that reflects the interests and needs of all children in your care
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues to support each child's sense of belonging and engagement
- Observe, document and assess children's learning and development to inform programming and identify areas of need or extension
- Support children's health, safety and wellbeing by adhering to all centre policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, including duty of care responsibilities
- Collaborate with other educators and families to support children with additional needs or developmental concerns
- Communicate regularly with families about their child's learning, progress and wellbeing
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with early childhood education and care (ECEC) regulations and centre requirements
- Participate in career development and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice
- Support the overall operations of the centre, including setup, cleanup and general maintenance of the learning environment
What we're looking for
- A current Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain these within three months of commencement)
- Current or willing to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC) as required by NSW regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development, learning theories and play-based pedagogy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to supporting each child's individual needs and strengths
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to the centre's culture and operations
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS)
- Experience working in a regulated childcare or early learning environment is highly desirable
