Hotel Morris is looking for a hands‑on Finance Manager to take ownership of the hotel’s finance function.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you’ll manage financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll and day-to-day financial controls. You’ll also work closely with department leaders and owners, providing practical insights that support stronger commercial decisions.

As we bring our finance function in-house, this is a great opportunity to establish effective processes and make a visible impact on the performance of a boutique Sydney hotel.

What you’ll be doing

- Preparing monthly management accounts, P&L; reports, balance sheet reconciliations and performance commentary

- Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and cash flow

- Processing payroll accurately and on time, including reconciliations and reporting

- Preparing budgets, forecasts and analysis of key financial variances

- Partnering with department leaders on costs, profitability and financial targets

- Completing BAS, GST and FBT reporting and supporting year-end audit requirements

- Maintaining strong financial controls and compliance with Accor policies and procedures

What we’re looking for

- A qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline

- At least two years’ experience in a similar finance role, ideally within hotels or hospitality

- Hands‑on experience with accounts payable,



payroll and financial reporting

- Robust knowledge of financial controls, reconciliations and Australian statutory requirements

- Strong Excel skills and confidence using accounting and reporting systems

- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and analytical ability

- A proactive, practical approach with the confidence to work independently and communicate with non‑financial stakeholders

- CA or CPA qualification, or progress towards one, would be advantageous but is not essential
