Named Triple M Melbourne’s Best Pub two years running, Panton Hill Hotel is looking for a skilled Chef de Partie who takes pride in their cooking and wants to keep growing.
We’re an established community pub in beautiful Panton Hill, bringing together quality ingredients, a busy service and a welcoming country pub atmosphere. Our guests come for relaxed meals and family celebrations, and we want the food to keep them coming back.
You’ll join a kitchen where you can take ownership of your section, contribute ideas and develop your skills alongside the Head Chef and the wider team.

The role
You’ll take ownership of your section, from preparation through to service, working closely with the Head Chef and the rest of the team.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting consistently good food.
- Keeping your section organised, well stocked and ready for service.
- Maintaining quality when service gets busy.
- Following food safety procedures and keeping a clean workspace.
- Managing stock carefully and keeping waste down.
- Supporting junior chefs and helping your teammates when needed.
- Sharing ideas for dishes and ways to improve how we work.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, communicates clearly and cares about doing a positive job.
You’ll bring:
- Experience as a Chef de Partie, or strong experience as a chef ready to take responsibility for a section.
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
- Confidence working in a busy pub, restaurant or similar kitchen.
- Strong cooking skills and attention to consistency, flavour and presentation.
- Good organisation and the ability to plan your preparation.
- A calm, practical approach during service.
- A relevant cookery qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
