About the company

Our client is the Australian arm of a German family-owned global manufacturer of industrial laundry systems. They design and build large automated laundry lines for healthcare, hospitality and commercial laundries. The Australian team is small, so your work will be visible every day.

The role

You’ll be the single accountable owner of every equipment project in Australia, from estimate through installation and commissioning to signed customer acceptance. You’ll also manage warranty claims and technical complaints with the factory in Germany.

What you’ll do

- Work with Sales on estimates, then build the project plan, budget, resources and site schedule
- Lead installation teams on site: company technicians, subcontractors, casual labour and visiting specialists from Germany
- Own site safety: risk assessments, SWMS, permits, isolations and contractor inductions under an ISO 45001 system
- Commission and document every safety function, close out punch lists, and obtain signed customer acceptance
- Hand over each project in writing to the service team
- Report weekly on progress, cost, risks and customer issues
- Manage warranty and complaint cases through to a documented root cause

Career path

- Year 1:



project delivery and warranty management
- Year 2: first point of technical contact, using fault data to drive fixes with Germany
- Year 3+: Product & Application Specialist, advising customers and Sales on plant layout and training others

About you

- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
- Experience leading site teams and subcontractors to install and commission industrial machinery, process equipment or automated handling systems
- Able to read mechanical and electrical schematics, with working knowledge of PLC-controlled systems preferably
- Strong knowledge of site safety under Australian WHS legislation
- Explicit, disciplined written communication
- Current driver’s licence and comfortable with frequent interstate travel, including multi-week site periods

Highly regarded:

materials handling or industrial machinery experience, warranty claims management, and project management training or certification.
