Ready to take ownership of an accounts function and make a real impact?
Our client is a well-established, family-owned business in the Maryborough region experiencing continued growth and looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Manager to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves leading a team, creating structure, improving processes and making sure the numbers are right.
You’ll work closely with senior management and have genuine ownership of the day-to-day accounts function, while helping improve systems, reporting and financial processes across the business.
This isn’t a role where you’ll simply be processing transactions all day. Your experience and ideas will be valued, and you’ll have the autonomy to make improvements and help shape how the finance function operates moving forward.
THE ROLE
As Senior Accounts Manager, you’ll take responsibility for overseeing the accounts function and supporting a small accounts team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, supporting and mentoring the accounts team
- Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Managing invoicing, receipting, creditors and reconciliations
- Supporting payroll processes where required
- Coordinating month-end activities
- Ensuring financial information is accurate and delivered on time
- Supporting budgeting,
forecasting and cashflow reporting
- Maintaining strong financial controls and procedures
- Reviewing existing processes and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Improving systems, workflows and reporting
- Working closely with management and operational teams
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors when required
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for someone who is confident, organised and experienced, but equally important, someone who enjoys being part of a team and working within a growing business.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Senior Accounts Manager, Accounts Manager, Finance Manager or similar
- Experience leading and mentoring an accounts team
- Robust Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable knowledge
- Solid reconciliation and month-end experience
- Strong Excel and accounting software skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confidence communicating with both management and operational teams
- A practical, hands‑on approach
- The ability to identify problems and improve processes
- High levels of confidentiality and integrity
You don’t necessarily need to tick every box. If you’ve successfully managed an accounts function and a team and you’re ready for your next long-term opportunity, we’d still love to hear from you.
