Ignite have partnered with a global engineering and industrial solutions organisation who are seeking an experienced Dry Gas Seal (DGS) Supervisor to lead refurbishment and testing operations within a service centre environment. This position is responsible for overseeing a technical team, ensuring safe and efficient workflows, maintaining quality standards, and providing technical expertise related to dry gas seal systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all Dry Gas Seal refurbishment, assembly, and testing activities.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and quality procedures.
- Maintain calibration and certification requirements for testing equipment and tooling.
- Review, approve, and manage inspection reports and testing documentation.
- Support the design, specification, and procurement of new testing equipment.
- Train and mentor team members on calibration software, testing methodologies, and dry gas seal operation.
- Provide technical guidance for assembly challenges, operational issues, and test failures.
- Review and approve test results and technical documentation.
- Manage day-to-day operation of DGS testing facilities, including customer-facing testing activities.
- Deliver technical support and problem-solving assistance to customers.
- Initiate and review engineering drawing updates and technical change requests.
- Assess general arrangement drawings for compatibility and interchangeability requirements.
- Present technical product information and best practices to team members.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other support departments to resolve technical issues.
- Support machining-related activities where required.
- Provide emergency and critical site support when operational demands arise.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the service centre.

- Coordination of DGS planning, assembly, refurbishment, and testing activities.
- Maintaining workflow efficiency and operational performance.
- Working closely with internal departments to ensure timely execution of repair and service processes.
- Driving quality control and compliance throughout all DGS-related operations.
Requirments
- Diploma, engineering degree, or relevant trade/technical qualification.
- Minimum five years' experience in a technical industrial environment, preferably within a multinational business.
- Experience using ERP systems, particularly SAP or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of lapping and polishing processes.
- Strong leadership and people management capability.
- Comprehensive understanding of rotating equipment, mechanical seals, or similar industrial products.
- Ability to develop, mentor, and support technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
