Heavy Diesel Mechanics & Auto Electricians

Full-Time | Wingfield | Multiple Positions | Flexible Shifts

IM Partners is hiring for an established resource recovery business in Wingfield, with at least two permanent full-time opportunities available across its maintenance team.

We are looking for experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Hydraulic Mechanics and Auto Electricians who know their trade, can diagnose problems properly and take pride in keeping equipment running.

You do not need to cover every discipline.

We are interested in people with strong capability in either heavy diesel and hydraulics or auto electrical, as well as those who have experience across both.

This is a busy industrial operation with a varied range of heavy vehicles, mobile plant and operational equipment. The work is hands-on, the problems are varied and there is plenty to keep a valuable tradesperson interested.

What you'll be working on

Depending on your trade and experience, your work may include:

- Heavy diesel servicing, maintenance and repairs
- Heavy vehicle and mobile plant maintenance
- Mechanical and hydraulic fault finding
- Hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves and hoses
- Engines, driveline, cooling, steering and braking systems
- 12V and 24V electrical systems
- Starting and charging systems
- Wiring, sensors, switches, solenoids and electronic controls
- Electrical and electronic diagnostics
- CAN-bus and fault-code investigation
- Preventative and scheduled maintenance
- Breakdown diagnosis and repair




- Investigating recurring faults and finding the underlying cause
- Working alongside other trades where faults cross mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems

The focus is simple: diagnose it properly, repair it properly and get the equipment safely back into operation.

Who we're looking for

We would like to hear from you if you are a qualified:

- Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic
- Diesel Fitter
- Auto Electrician
- Mechanic with strong hydraulic experience

You will ideally bring experience working with heavy vehicles, mobile plant, earthmoving equipment or similar machinery.

Experience in waste, recycling, civil, quarrying, transport, earthmoving or another heavy industrial setting would be highly regarded, but it is not essential if your technical capability is strong.

More importantly, we are looking for people who are reliable, practical and capable of working through a problem without needing someone standing over them.

Flexible hours

There is genuine flexibility around working hours.

The operation requires maintenance coverage across approximately 6.00 am to 11.00 pm, which means there are opportunities for different start and finish times across day and afternoon/evening shifts.

Prefer to start early and finish early? That may work.

Applicable shift loadings are paid, and individual working arrangements can be discussed with suitable candidates.
