About the area
The Directorate of Student Life and Community sits within the Education Portfolio, overseen by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education and Student Experience). Student Life and Community plays an integral role in the shared strategic goal of providing a world-class student experience.
The division of Student Health and Wellbeing (within the Directorate) facilitates a high-quality student experience through the provision of integrated and comprehensive services. It has five broad areas - Complex Case Support; The Living Room, Mental Health and Wellbeing Service; Medical Centre; and prevention programs and training. The Psychology Team is part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.
About the opportunity
- As a member of the psychology team, you will engage in the delivery of a range of evidence-based psychological and counselling interventions to support student mental health and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with, and refer to, other healthcare professionals, as appropriate,
to ensure coordinated and holistic student care.
- Work alongside Mental Health and Wellbeing Service team members, as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team with a strong focus on professional development, best practice, and student-centred care
About you
- Full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and substantial experience delivering counselling and psychological services.
- Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment, safety planning, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse student populations.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage caseloads, maintain accurate clinical records and meet service timelines.
- Collaborative practitioner who works effectively within multidisciplinary teams and contributes to continuous service improvement.
