Support practical learning across Food, Textiles,CAD/CAM and Digital Technology
At All Hallows' School, a Catholic Mercy school for girls inYears 5-12, we are passionate about the education of young women ina holistic, faith-based workplace.
About the role
Work closely with the Head of Department Technology and teachingstaff to support engaging practical learning. This full-time,term-time role provides practical, technical and administrativesupport across Food, Textiles, CAD/CAM, resistant materials andDigital Technology.
Help maintain safe, organised and well-resourced learningenvironments by preparing materials and equipment, supportingpractical classes, managing resources and assisting with dailydepartmental operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support practical classes, including set-up, in-classassistance, cleaning and packing away
- Prepare ingredients, materials, equipment and resources forpractical lessons and departmental activities
- Order, receive, store and distribute supplies, and processpurchase orders and invoices
- Maintain clean, safe, organised and well-stocked learning,preparation and storage areas
- Support specialist equipment, including sewing andembroidery machines, 3D printers and laser cutters, and liaisewith staff, students and suppliers
Role Requirements
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and theability to manage competing priorities
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, withthe ability to work professionally with staff, students andsuppliers
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to workindependently within established procedures
- An interest in technology-related products and awillingness to learn about CAD/CAM, resistant materials, codinghardware, 3D printing and laser cutting
- Current Queensland Working with Children Clearance (BlueCard)
- Approval to work in Australia
- A current food safety certificate
- A commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic educationin the Mercy tradition
- A qualification in a related trade, relevant practicalexperience, or experience working with children or young peoplein a school setting would be beneficial
- A varied and practical role supporting Food, Textiles,CAD/CAM and Digital Technology learning
- Opportunities to develop skills across a broad range ofequipment, resources and technologies
