Job Description
The Technical Manager will provide technical leadership and customer-facing expertise to support the growth of ADM’s Health & Wellness business across Australia and New Zealand, with a primary focus on microbiome solutions including prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics.Working closely with the ANZ Sales team, the role will identify and support business opportunities across Functional Food & Beverage, Pet Nutrition (B2B) and Dietary Supplements. The Technical Manager will build solid technical relationships with customer R&D;, formulation, scientific and regulatory teams, positioning ADM as a trusted innovation partner.The role will support customers throughout the product development journey, from concept and ingredient selection through formulation, technical validation, regulatory considerations and commercialization, while coordinating with ADM’s global R&D;, application, technical and commercial teams.As a key link between ANZ and ADM’s APAC and Global Health & Wellness teams, the role will also support the introduction of new technologies and products, align local priorities with global strategy, and provide market and customer insights to guide innovation and portfolio development.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in food, nutrition or health & wellness, practical knowledge of microbiome solutions, and strong customer-facing communication and technical business development skills.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for ADM’s Health & Wellness business in ANZ, with a primary focus on microbiome solutions (pre-, pro- and postbiotics) and their applications across Functional Food & Beverage, Dietary Supplement and Pet & Animal Wellbeing (PAW) categories.
- Partner with the ANZ Sales team to identify, develop and progress new business opportunities and customer projects, providing technical expertise throughout the innovation and product development process.
- Build strong technical-to-technical (T2T) relationships with customer R&D;, formulation, scientific and regulatory teams and act as a trusted technical contact for ADM.
- Lead technical customer engagements, including presentations, workshops, technical discussions and troubleshooting, and represent ADM at relevant conferences, seminars and trade shows across ANZ.
- Translate customer technical requirements into actionable projects, coordinating with ADM’s global and regional R&D;, Applications, Regulatory and technical teams to deliver appropriate solutions.
- Support the successful introduction of new ADM Health & Wellness solutions into ANZ, including technical readiness, regulatory considerations and prioritization of local registrations.
- Maintain strong connections with APAC and Global Health & Wellness leadership, ensuring alignment with global strategy, innovation priorities and new product introductions while communicating ANZ market and customer needs.
- Monitor developments in microbiome science, nutrition, functional foods and dietary supplements and translate relevant trends and insights into customer opportunities and internal business priorities.
- Ensure all customer and project activities are managed in accordance with ADM policies, processes and relevant FSANZ and TGA requirements.
- Participate in relevant internal and external technical forums, conferences, seminars, exhibitions and industry events to strengthen ADM’s technical profile and identify emerging opportunities.
- Represent ADM professionally with customers, industry organizations, technical communities and other external stakeholders.
Your Profile
- University degree qualification in Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years’ relevant industry experience in food, nutrition, health & wellness, ingredients or related industries.
- Strong technical understanding of food and/or nutrition product development.
- Demonstrated experience or exposure to microbiome solutions and biotics, including prebiotics, probiotics and/or postbiotics.
- Working knowledge of Australian and New Zealand regulatory requirements, including FSANZ and TGA.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with customer R&D;, formulation, scientific and/or regulatory teams.
- Ability to understand customer technical requirements and translate them into practical product development solutions.
- Strong understanding of ingredient functionality, formulation and application development.
- Strong project management capability, with the ability to manage multiple customer projects and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Good computer software skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Job Description
The Technical Manager will provide technical leadership and customer-facing expertise to support the growth of ADM’s Health & Wellness business across Australia and New Zealand, with a primary focus on microbiome solutions including prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics.Working closely with the ANZ Sales team, the role will identify and support business opportunities across Functional Food & Beverage, Pet Nutrition (B2B) and Dietary Supplements. The Technical Manager will build strong technical relationships with customer R&D;, formulation, scientific and regulatory teams, positioning ADM as a trusted innovation partner.The role will support customers throughout the product development journey, from concept and ingredient selection through formulation, technical validation, regulatory considerations and commercialization, while coordinating with ADM’s global R&D;, application, technical and commercial teams.As a key link between ANZ and ADM’s APAC and Global Health & Wellness teams, the role will also support the introduction of new technologies and products, align local priorities with global strategy, and provide market and customer insights to guide innovation and portfolio development.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in food, nutrition or health & wellness, practical knowledge of microbiome solutions, and strong customer-facing communication and technical business development skills.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for ADM’s Health & Wellness business in ANZ, with a primary focus on microbiome solutions (pre-, pro- and postbiotics) and their applications across Functional Food & Beverage, Dietary Supplement and Pet & Animal Wellbeing (PAW) categories.
- Partner with the ANZ Sales team to identify, develop and progress new business opportunities and customer projects, providing technical expertise throughout the innovation and product development process.
- Build robust technical-to-technical (T2T) relationships with customer R&D;, formulation, scientific and regulatory teams and act as a trusted technical contact for ADM.
- Lead technical customer engagements, including presentations, workshops, technical discussions and troubleshooting, and represent ADM at relevant conferences, seminars and trade shows across ANZ.
- Translate customer technical requirements into actionable projects, coordinating with ADM’s global and regional R&D;, Applications, Regulatory and technical teams to deliver appropriate solutions.
- Support the successful introduction of new ADM Health & Wellness solutions into ANZ, including technical readiness, regulatory considerations and prioritization of local registrations.
- Maintain strong connections with APAC and Global Health & Wellness leadership, ensuring alignment with global strategy, innovation priorities and new product introductions while communicating ANZ market and customer needs.
- Monitor developments in microbiome science, nutrition, functional foods and dietary supplements and translate relevant trends and insights into customer opportunities and internal business priorities.
- Ensure all customer and project activities are managed in accordance with ADM policies, processes and relevant FSANZ and TGA requirements.
- Participate in relevant internal and external technical forums, conferences, seminars, exhibitions and industry events to strengthen ADM’s technical profile and identify emerging opportunities.
- Represent ADM professionally with customers, industry organizations, technical communities and other external stakeholders.
Your Profile
- University degree qualification in Food Science, Nutrition, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years’ relevant industry experience in food, nutrition, health & wellness, ingredients or related industries.
- Strong technical understanding of food and/or nutrition product development.
- Demonstrated experience or exposure to microbiome solutions and biotics, including prebiotics, probiotics and/or postbiotics.
- Working knowledge of Australian and New Zealand regulatory requirements, including FSANZ and TGA.
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with customer R&D;, formulation, scientific and/or regulatory teams.
- Ability to understand customer technical requirements and translate them into practical product development solutions.
- Strong understanding of ingredient functionality, formulation and application development.
- Strong project management capability, with the ability to manage multiple customer projects and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Good computer software skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
