About the role

Bidwell Enterprises Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Chef to join our team in Diwan, QLD 4873. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst allowing you to showcase your culinary expertise in a agile hospitality environment. As Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality dishes, managing kitchen operations and maintaining the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. This role is integral to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests and maintaining the reputation of our establishment.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications

- Maintain strict food hygiene and safety standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations

- Manage kitchen inventory, monitor stock levels and identify items requiring replenishment

- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency in food preparation

- Collaborate with management to develop and refine menu offerings based on seasonal ingredients and guest preferences

- Ensure all dishes are plated and presented to the highest standards before service

- Monitor food costs and minimise waste whilst maintaining portion control and quality

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment at all times

- Respond to special dietary requirements and customisation requests from guests

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Chef in a professional hospitality setting

- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and kitchen safety standards

- Current Food Safety Supervisor or equivalent certification (or willingness to obtain)

- Excellent time management and ability to work efficiently during peak service periods

- Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation

- Strong communication and teamwork skills,



with the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff

- Physical fitness and stamina to meet the demands of kitchen work, including standing for extended periods

- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

- Experience with menu planning and cost management is advantageous

- Culinary qualifications or formal training in hospitality is preferred
