Westgold is seeking an experienced Trainer - Processing to lead training and competency development across our processing operations.
Operating on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, you'll be responsible for developing the capability of our processing workforce, ensuring operators are trained, competent and equipped to safely and efficiently operate a modern processing facility.
This is an opportunity for an experienced processing professional to step into a role where they can influence operational performance, workforce capability and safety outcomes while mentoring the next generation of operators.
About the Role
As Trainer - Processing, you'll be the subject matter expert for operational training across the processing plant, delivering practical coaching, competency-based training and workplace assessments to operators at all levels.
Working closely with frontline teams and leadership, you'll support workforce capability, maintain training compliance and help foster a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
You'll spend most of your time where it matters most, in the plant, coaching teams, verifying competencies and ensuring employees have the skills and confidence to perform their roles safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver site inductions, training programs and competency assessments
- Conduct Verification of Competencies (VOC) and task-based assessments
- Coach and mentor operators through practical, hands-on training
- Support onboarding and development of new employees
- Maintain accurate training and competency records
- Promote safe work practices and critical risk awareness
- Identify capability gaps and development opportunities across crews
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the training function
About You
You are an experienced processing professional who enjoys developing people and sharing operational knowledge.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Extensive experience within a processing plant workplace
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
- Experience delivering competency-based training and assessments
- Strong understanding of operational training and workforce development
- Knowledge of critical risk management and site safety systems
- Excellent communication, coaching and mentoring skills
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
