We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Newsagency Counter Staff member to join the team . This is a part-time position that plays a vital role in delivering excellent service to our customers at the counter. You will be the face of our newsagency, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and productive. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of service that our customers expect and rely upon.
Key responsibilities
- Operating the till and processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Assisting customers with enquiries about products and services available at the newsagency
- Stocking shelves and maintaining displays with newspapers, magazines, sweets, gifts and other retail items
- Handling cash and card payments, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly
- Providing friendly and helpful customer service to all visitors
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the counter area and shop floor
What we're looking for
- Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliability and punctuality
- A positive attitude and commitment to customer satisfaction
- Flexibility with working hours,
including potential weekend and public holiday shifts
