About the role

FGI Developments is seeking experienced Concreters to join our team on a casual basis. This is a hands-on position where you'll be responsible for pouring, finishing, and maintaining concrete structures on construction sites across Darwin and Cairns. As a Concreter, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the quality and durability of concrete work on our projects. This is a full time position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse construction projects in the Darwin and Cairns region.

What you'll be doing

- Pouring concrete into formwork and molds, ensuring proper placement and compaction

- Finishing concrete surfaces using trowels, floats and other tools to achieve the required texture and profile

- Operating concrete vibrators and levelling equipment to remove air pockets and ensure structural integrity

- Setting up and dismantling formwork and scaffolding in preparation for concrete work

- Monitoring concrete curing times and conditions to ensure proper setting

- Performing quality checks and inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and safety standards

- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition

- Adhering to all health and safety requirements and best practice procedures on site

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Concreter or in a similar concrete finishing role

- Sound knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring and finishing techniques

- Proficiency with hand tools including trowels, floats, screeds and finishing equipment

- Experience with formwork setup and interpretation of construction drawings





- A strong understanding of health and safety protocols on construction sites

- Physical fitness and the ability to work in outdoor conditions for extended periods

- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Relevant qualifications or certifications in concreting (preferred)

- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different sites within Darwin and Cairns

- Ability to read drawings
