We’re looking for a warm, reliable and enthusiastic Therapy Assistant to join our Pimpama Clubhouse team.

You do not need to be an allied health professional to apply. You’ll work under the guidance of our Lead Practitioner, supporting young, neurodivergent people to participate in sessions, explore their interests and connect with their peers.

TEC Therapies & Allied health is an award-winning, Autistic-led provider delivering neurodivergent-affirming therapy, social connection and family support for Autistic and neurodivergent young people.

Think: child-led, sensory exploration, creativity, movement and genuine connection. Our sessions incorporate individualised therapeutic supports into activities that are meaningful to each child or teen.

? The Role

As a Therapy Assistant, you’ll provide hands-on support during our sessions, working alongside the Lead Practitioner and wider team.

You’ll help put individualised strategies into practice under the Lead Practitioner’s direction. You won’t be expected to independently assess children, develop therapy plans or take on the responsibilities of an allied health practitioner.

You’ll be:

- Building trusting relationships with children and teens, becoming a familiar, safe person within their sessions.

- Supporting participation in play and activities, following each young person’s interests, sensory needs, and communication preferences.

- Putting therapeutic strategies into practice as guided by the Lead Practitioner and each child’s individual support plan.

- Supporting sensory needs, co-regulation and peer connection,



without pressure to participate, perform or mask.

- Helping sessions run safely and smoothly, including preparing activities, setting up spaces and packing away.

- Communicating observations and concerns to the Lead Practitioner and contributing to session documentation as required.

Some moments might involve joining a game, creating something messy or sharing an enthusiastic conversation about a favourite interest. Others might involve slowing down, offering a quieter space or simply being alongside a young person without placing demands on them.

- Sessions are held primarily after school hours + weekends

You are:

- Passionate about neurodivergent-affirming practice

- Keen to move beyond traditional clinic models

- Comfortable working in agile, sometimes messy, always fun environments

- A team player who values authentic connection over compliance-based therapy

Experience working with Autistic and/or neurodivergent clients is highly regarded.

Applicants must be able to meet TEC’s screening, safeguarding and contractor onboarding requirements before commencing.
