We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Project Manager to lead the delivery of projects across our Technology Roadmap.
Reporting to the Manager Business Systems, you will manage multiple initiatives from discovery through implementation and transition to business-as-usual, working closely with IT, operational and corporate stakeholders, and external vendors. This hands-on role combines structured project delivery with strong stakeholder engagement, change management and user adoption to achieve lasting business outcomes.
As the Business Systems Project Manager, you will:
- Lead multiple IT and business systems projects from initiation through implementation, review and transition to operational support.
- Establish appropriate project governance, reporting structures and controls.
- Manage project scope, plans, schedules, budgets, risks and dependencies.
- Work with stakeholders to define business requirements, identify practical solutions and develop business cases.
- Coordinate IT teams, business experts, operational stakeholders and external technology partners.
- Lead change management, communications, testing and training to support successful implementation and user adoption.
- Manage vendor performance and ensure solutions meet agreed scope, timelines and quality requirements, including testing before implementation
About You
You are an experienced Project Manager who brings structure and clarity to complex projects,
manages competing priorities and builds robust relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience managing IT and/or business systems projects from initiation through to successful completion.
- Demonstrated experience successfully applying at least one established project management framework, such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile or a hybrid approach.
- Proven change management experience, including driving the adoption of new systems, processes and ways of working.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, facilitation and relationship management skills.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, particularly SharePoint and Teams.
- Robust organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Information Technology, Business or a relevant discipline, or at least four years' experience in a similar project management role.
The following experience and qualifications will be highly regarded:
- Experience within energy, utilities, power generation, mining, heavy industry or another operationally complex environment.
- Relevant project management certification.
- Experience coordinating external technology vendors and implementation partners.
