About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Metal Machinist (CNC Machinist) to join our team in Maddington, WA. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining and finishing metal components to precise specifications for mining, industrial and heavy equipment applications.

Key Responsibilities

· Setting up and operating conventional and CNC machine tools including lathes, milling machines and machining centres.

· Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.

· Selecting and fitting appropriate cutting tools, attachments and machine settings.

· Measuring and inspecting machined components using precision measuring instruments.

· Performing turning, milling, drilling, boring, tapping, profiling and other machining operations.

· Machining components to specified dimensions, tolerances and surface finishes.

· Carrying out precision machining and repair work on components used in heavy machinery and industrial equipment.

· Identifying machining defects and making necessary adjustments to tooling, machine settings and processes.

· Conducting routine checks and basic maintenance of machining equipment and tools.

· Ensuring completed work meets required quality, safety and production standards.

· Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area.

· Working effectively with workshop,



fabrication, mechanical and other technical team members.

Skills and Experience Required

· Minimum 2-3 years of full time relevant experience as a Metal Machinist or in a closely related machining role.

· Relevant Certificate III or IV trade qualification in engineering, metal machining or a related field will be highly regarded.

· Experience operating lathes, milling machines and CNC machining equipment.

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

· Sound knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, materials and machining techniques.

· Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers and gauges.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working to close tolerances.

· Ability to identify machining issues and make appropriate adjustments to achieve required specifications.

· Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements in a workshop environment.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Previous experience in mining, heavy equipment, industrial or fabrication environments will be advantageous.
