Kakadu Crocodile Hotel is looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our kitchen team for a long-term position.

Kakadu Crocodile Hotel has recently joined the Journey Beyond network, bringing this iconic Top End destination into Australia’s leading experiential tourism portfolio. This exciting rebrand connects the hotel with Journey Beyond’s collection of unique travel experiences, creating new opportunities for our people and guests alike.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated chef who enjoys working in a busy hospitality environment and wants to be part of a team in the unique surroundings of Kakadu National Park.

About the Role

As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee the day-to-day kitchen operation, ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and kitchen hygiene.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations

- Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes

- Supervising and supporting kitchen staff

- Maintaining food quality, consistency and presentation

- Assisting with ordering, stock control and food preparation

- Ensuring HACCP, food safety and workplace health and safety standards are maintained





- Helping to train and develop junior kitchen team members

- Maintaining a clean, organized and efficient kitchen

About You

We are looking for someone who:

- Has proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior Chef

- Is confident working in a busy commercial kitchen

- Has solid organizational and communication skills

- Takes pride in food quality and presentation

- Can lead and motivate a kitchen team

- Is reliable, professional and works well under pressure

- Has a genuine interest in committing to a long-term position
