A Class Metals is looking for an experienced Fabrication Draftsperson with positive knowledge of stainless steel, aluminium or sheet metal to join our team in Caringbah.

This is not a purely desk-based drafting position. You’ll be involved from site measure through drafting, fabrication and QA, working closely with our workshop and management team.

The Role

You will be responsible for:
Producing accurate fabrication and shop drawings
3D drafting using Fusion 360 & developing files for laser cutting (AMADA)
Attending site to take accurate measurements
Converting site information into practical fabrication details
Reviewing drawings for constructability before fabrication
Liaising directly with fabricators, builders and customers
Resolving technical issues during fabrication
Checking critical dimensions, orientation and components
Participating in our workshop QA process
Ensuring the latest approved drawings are being followed

What We're Looking For

We want someone who has:
Strong fabrication or manufacturing drafting experience
Good knowledge of stainless steel, Aluminium or sheet metal fabrication
Experience reading architectural and fabrication drawings
Robust 3D CAD skills
Accurate site-measuring ability
Good spatial and dimensional awareness




Excellent attention to detail
Confident verbal communication
The ability to work directly with tradespeople, builders and customers
A practical approach to solving fabrication problems

Experience with TIG welding, folding, laser cutting, architectural metalwork or custom fabrication would be highly regarded.
