Casual Medical Receptionist

We are seeking an experienced Casual Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and professional team at Keysborough Medical Centre.

About the Role

This is a casual position suited to someone who is adaptable and available to provide reception coverage as required.

The successful applicant must be:
Available for afternoon shifts
Available to work until 7:30pm
Available to provide last-minute cover when required
Available to cover staff annual leave and sick leave
Flexible with working hours, as there is no fixed roster
Available to work on a casual, as-needed basis
Have a minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a medical centre

Key Responsibilities
Providing reception support to our GPs, onsite Pathology and Practice Nurse
Answering and managing multiple telephone calls
Scheduling appointments and responding to patient enquiries
Processing payments and Medicare billings
Emailing, faxing and scanning documents
Managing patient records and general administrative duties




Maintaining a high level of patient service and professionalism
Multitasking and working efficiently in a busy medical environment

Essential Requirements
Minimum 1 year’s experience working in a medical centre/medical practice
Previous medical reception experience is essential
Previous experience using Best Practice software is essential
Strong IT and computer skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy environment
Skilled, friendly and reliable manner
Must be versatile and reliable for last-minute cover
Must be available to cover annual leave and sick leave
Must be available for afternoon/evening shifts, including shifts finishing at 7:30pm
