Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking a Trainee Recreation Officer to join out team! Are you passionate about health, fitness and supporting your local community? This exciting traineeship offers the chance to gain valuable hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification. You will assist with the day-to-day operation and supervision of Council’s Aquatic and Fitness Centre, work alongside experienced staff, support customers and help deliver a secure and welcoming environment. The role will also contribute to programs and initiatives delivered by Gilgandra Youth Services. This is a fantastic chance to build practical skills, gain a qualification and begin a rewarding career in the fitness and recreation industry.
Weekly pay cycle
Fixed term 2 years
Salary range depending on age and experience

ABOUT THE ROLE
The position is responsible for assisting the Recreation Supervisor in the effective and efficient operation and supervision of Council’s Aquatic and Fitness Centre and its employees and users and gain valuable employment skills whilst undertaking the Certificate 3 in Fitness. The role will also support the programs and initiatives of Gilgandra Youth Services.

ABOUT YOU
Pool Lifeguard Licence (must obtain within 12 months of employment)




Cert III Fitness (must obtain within 12 months of employment)
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Working with Children Check
Possess a genuine interest in fitness and recreation services
Knowledge and understanding of WHS
Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of team
