The Sydney Morning Herald is offering a 12-month full time traineeship for aspiring journalists. Trainees will work in the Sydney newsroom, rotating through shifts including evenings and weekends, with mentorship from senior editors and reporters.

Selected candidates will develop breaking news skills, sharpen writing, and gain experience across multi-platform storytelling in a agile media workplace.
