From luxury wilderness accommodation and exceptional dining experiences to authentic Tasmanian hospitality, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of these unique properties while living and working in one of Australia's most breathtaking natural environments.Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for the operational, financial, guest experience and people performance of both properties.
This is a true leadership-from-the-front opportunity, ideally suited to a hands-on hospitality professional who enjoys balancing strategy with day-to-day operations.You'll build and develop a high-performing team, foster strong stakeholder and community relationships, drive innovation and guest satisfaction, and ensure the business delivers exceptional commercial results.
From supporting a food and beverage service and assisting with group bookings to leading business planning and operational strategy, no two days will be the same.What you'll doLead, coach and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive culture focused on engagement,
accountability and guest excellenceOversee the day-to-day operations of both Pumphouse Point and Derwent Bridge HotelDeliver an exceptional and consistent guest experience while identifying opportunities to enhance products and servicesDrive financial performance through effective budgeting, forecasting, labour management and cost controlAssist in developing and executing annual business plans and strategic objectivesEstablish, monitor and report on key business performance indicatorsManage guest feedback channels and use insights to continually improve the guest experienceLead recruitment, onboarding, training and succession planning initiatives with support from People & CultureDevelop strong stakeholder, tourism industry and community relationships, acting as a passionate ambassador for both properties and the NRMA brandIdentify opportunities for revenue growth, upselling, cross-selling and new product innovationOversee capital works and property improvement projectsEnsure compliance with all company policies, legislative requirements, licensing obligations and operational standardsLead workplace health and safety initiatives and maintain a strong safety culture across both propertiesProven ability to manage and develop staff of all levelsTo help you make the most of this unique lifestyle opportunity, staff accommodation is available.
As you'll be living and working in a remote location surrounded by Tasmania's stunning wilderness, you'll need your own reliable vehicle to explore the region and access nearby amenities.What you'll bring Proven success as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager or senior hospitality leader within a premium hotel, resort or tourism operationExtensive experience leading multi-department hotel operations including accommodation, food and beverage, guest services and commercial performanceStrong people leadership capability, with a demonstrated ability to motivate, mentor and develop teamsA leadership style that is authentic, hands-on and engaging,
with the ability to build trust and inspire othersGuest-centric and able to innovate in a premium environment, delivering a consistently flawless guest experienceCommercial acumen with a proven track record managing budgets, forecasting, P&L; performance and operational efficienciesExperience driving change, continuous improvement and business growth initiativesStrong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build lasting relationships across local communities, industry partners and internal teamsDemonstrated experience managing remote tourism or hospitality operations highly regardedQualifications in Hospitality, Tourism, Management or a related disciplineAbility to obtain and maintain relevant licensing accreditation (working with vulnerable people check is essential)Experience with Newbook will be highly regardedWhat's in it for you?
