The Role We're looking for a Wireless Specialist to join our established radio frequency and network engineering team at Pentanet.
Your primary responsibility will be managing our large network of radios, including an existing fixed-wireless (FWA) network operating in 5GHz, 60GHz and 26GHz bands as well as a comprehensive wireless backhaul network.
This is a role for someone who would rather prevent problems than chase them.
You'll take ownership of the health of the network, spotting trends early and remediating issues before they impact our customers, and you'll bring fresh ideas on how we can work smarter.
RF experience is valued, but what matters most is a proven ability to pick up and understand new technologies quickly.
You'll build the tools you need to manage the network, from scripts and dashboards to automated monitoring and alerting.
You won't be doing it alone: you'll be backed by an existing team of network engineers who are all-in on automation and always exploring new ways of working.
Good ideas here don't sit on a whiteboard; they get built, tested and rolled out.
Day-to-day duties
Managing and proactively monitoring Pentanet's large network of radios, identifying and remediating issues before they impact subscribers.
Assisting the field projects team with rollout of RF equipment to new and existing towers.

Provide regular reporting including subscriber counts, network health and bandwidth availability.
Work with stakeholders (Sales, Marketing) to identify areas of potential growth within the Perth Metro area.
Drive preventative maintenance and proactive remediation to maintain service continuity to the Pentanet subscriber base, reducing reliance on reactive breakdown fixes.

Provisioning of radio and network equipment for tower sites.
Creation and maintenance of internal documentation.
What we are looking for
A proven ability to quickly pick up, understand and apply new technologies.
A proven ability to be a self-starter who takes ownership and works with minimal supervision.
A proactive mindset, with a focus on proactive remediation rather than reactive firefighting.
A genuine enthusiasm for embracing new ways of working, tools and technologies.
Demonstrated experience in process improvement aligned to strategic goals of the organisation.
Excellent communication & presentation skills.
Good time management, organisational and prioritisation skills.
Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
