The Assistant Coordinator works alongside the BOOSH Coordinator to deliver a high-quality children's school-aged service.
The role combines direct service delivery, with admin, programming and compliance (working under the guidance of the coordinator).
As the Responsible Person, you will have supervisory duties for casual educators on the shifts you work.
While Children's Services qualifications are welcome, they are not a requirement.
Organisational, supervisory, and communication skills transferrable from any prior employment will be valued.
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, who has a commitment to quality service delivery, a positive skilled presence, is comfortable working within a compliance framework, great communication skills, and is a strong team player.
This role is on a permanent, part-time basis with 22 hours over three days with the following shift times (occasional additional hours may be required):
Thursday (split shift): 7:00am – 9:00am & 2:30pm – 6:00pm
Friday (split shift): 7:00am – 9:00am & 2:30pm – 6:00pm
Renumeration
Children's Services Award Level 6, plus above award pay and conditions + allowances (broken shift allowance of $***** per day),



and salary packaging options.
Duties include
Manage the day-to-day running of a school-aged children service program – with direction from the coordinator
Provide supervision support and direction casual educators rostered on your shifts
Compliance with all regulatory requirements for a Children's Service
Assist in creating a warm, caring environment for all children
Daily programming based on My Time, Our Place, as well as monitoring, evaluation and reporting
Ensure children and families voices are integrated into planning
Actively engage with children during service times
Ensure safety and hygiene standards and practices are maintained,
Work with the Coordinator to update the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
Order and manage resources
Ensure that BOOSH maintains a positive public profile
Alongside the coordinator Maintain effective and efficient administrative and financial management systems
Contribute to the development and review of BANC policies and procedures to ensure they support the safe and professional delivery of services.

Requirements
A current Working with Children Check
