About the role
Reporting to theManager, People & Culture Business Partnering, you will be a trusted adviser and escalation point for People and Culture matters across the employee lifecycle.
You will develop a strong understanding of Box Hill Institute's priorities and partner with leaders to deliver practical, contemporary and client-focused people solutions.
You will also work collaboratively across the broader People, Culture and Transformation team, supporting continuous service delivery and contributing to the ongoing improvement of People and Culture systems, processes and practices.
The position is based atElgar Campusand may be required to work at the City, Lilydale and other Box Hill Institute locations.
What you'll do
Partner with executives and leaders to align people strategies and solutions with organisational priorities
Provide trusted generalist advice across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, appointments, onboarding, probation, leave and employee matters
Coach and guide leaders to strengthen team effectiveness, performance and people-management capability
Support the early intervention and resolution of complex employee matters
Provide advice on position descriptions, workforce requirements and relevant employment processes
Support organisational and people-related change initiatives
Contribute to workforce reporting, planning and employment-related decision-making
Maintain accurate People and Culture records, systems and reporting processes
Identify and implement opportunities to improve People and Culture services, systems and processes
Build collaborative relationships across the organisation and provide responsive, professional and client-focused service
Provide cross-functional support across the People, Culture and Transformation team as required.
What You'll Bring
Broad generalist People and Culture experience, providing high-quality advice and support to leaders and employees within a busy and complex environment
Sound knowledge of Australian employment standards and legislation
Experience interpreting and applying industrial instruments, ideally within a public-sector or education environment
Strong internal consulting skills and the ability to translate organisational needs into practical people solutions
Demonstrated experience resolving complex employee matters and identifying workable solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong commitment to discretion and confidentiality
Proven ability to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work with minimal supervision
A team-oriented, solutions-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement
Experience using HR information systems and associated recruitment, onboarding,
offboarding and reporting processes.
Qualifications/Requirements
A tertiary qualification in Business, Management, Human Resources or a related discipline
A current and valid Working with Children Check, maintained at the employee's own expense
Satisfactory completion of Box Hill Institute's required pre-employment probity checks and pre-conditions of employment.
