Where you'll be working
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Perioperative Department services 8 Operating Theatres including specialities such as ENT, O&G;, Urology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Vascular, Dental, Endoscopy and Emergency cases.
The department offers supported learning and professional development with a rotating roster including weekends and on-call requirements.
What you'll be doing




The Scrub-Scout nurse works with the multidisciplinary team to provide patient services that is high quality and safe for all.
The role includes advocating for the patient, setting up the operating rooms and maintain sterility, ensuring availability of required instruments, assisting the surgical team, correctly completing surgical documentations, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements
Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development.
Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
An understanding of the skilled, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
People of Aboriginal and-or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
This is a NSW Health Category A position which requires immunisation and screening for certain diseases.
You will be required to complete the OASV Undertaking- Declaration Form and TB Assessment Tool during the recruitment process.
