Woods & Cois partnering with a highly regarded Melbourne based builder specialising in high end residential construction to appoint aProject Coordinatorto join their team.
This is a great opportunity for a construction professional who wants to take real ownership of projects without stepping into a traditional senior Project Manager position.
The Project Coordinator plays a key role in the delivery of each project, working side by side with the Construction Manager and Site Foreman to coordinate everything from procurement and subcontractors through to programming, documentation, costs and project completion.
You'll take ownership across the project, managing the key commercial, procurement and coordination requirements from pre-construction through to delivery.
The Role
Take ownership of the day to day coordination and administration of assigned projects
Work closely with the Construction Manager and Foreman throughout the project lifecycle
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, materials and procurement
Manage project documentation, RFI's, variations, and correspondence
Develop and maintain project programs key timelines
Track costs, purchase orders and variations throughout the build
Coordinate deliveries, lead times and materials
Liaise with external architects and engineers to finalise design plans
Coordinate information between subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and the site team
Assist with QA, defects and project close
About You
We're looking for someone with a strong construction background who understands how projects are actually delivered and is ready to take ownership of the coordination side of a project.
You could presently be working as a Project Coordinator, Contract Administrator, Site Supervisor,
Leading Hand or Junior PM and be ready to take on a new challenge and take a step up.
Ideally you'll have:
5+ years of experience within the construction industry either on the tools or office based
Experience working for a high-end residential builder or commercial builder
Robust understanding of construction processes and project documentation
Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders
Strong commercial and organisational skills
The ability manage multiple moving parts and keep projects progressing
A practical understanding of the buildability process
A tertiary or trade qualification will be critical
Experience across high end residential, commercial construction or complex building projects will be highly regarded.
