Job Description
Paul Stewart Automotive Repairs Paul Stewart Automotive Repairs Pty Ltd has been servicing the Eastern Suburbs for more than 40 years in a family run business.
We have a team of highly skilled technicians with experience in all makes and models delivering honest and exemplary customer service, car maintenance and spare parts replacements who have a robust understanding the changing dynamics of the automotive industry.
We are looking for aqualified and experienced MotorMechanic with 1-3 years' experience to join our team.
You willmaintain and repair vehicles.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality.
We are well-versed in complex mechanical or electronical systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities.
You must also be good communicators to provide advice to fellow auto mechanics and customers.
Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in motor vehicle engines and components using electronic and computerised diagnostic equipment.
Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other mechanical components for inspection and repair.
Inspect, repair and replace worn, damaged or defective mechanical and electrical components and parts.
Reassemble engines and mechanical components following repairs and replacements.
Test and adjust repaired mechanical components to ensure correct operation and performance.
Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, including oil and fluid changes,



lubrication and component inspections.
Inspect, diagnose, service and repair vehicle braking, steering, suspension, transmission and cooling systems.
Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
Use computerised diagnostic equipment and manufacturer specifications to identify vehicle faults and required repairs.
Conduct post-repair testing and road testing to verify vehicle performance, safety and reliability.
Advise customers regarding required repairs, maintenance and future servicing requirements.
Prepare estimates of repair requirements, labour and parts where required.
Maintain accurate records of servicing, diagnostics and repairs performed.
Maintain workshop tools and diagnostic equipment in safe working condition and comply with applicable WHS requirements.
Requirements and skills Proven experience as auto mechanic Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift) Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
Excellent physical condition Hold at least a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, a Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, or an equivalent qualification in a closely related field.
