Coin making – polishing, laser frosting, 3Dengraving, Physical Vapour Deposition hard coating, chrome plating,dies inspection and collars manufacture.
Machinery – operate and maintain minting criticalmachines.
Coin Sculpting – design coins, medals, medallions,and token, etc.
Graphic Design – design coin packaging materials,exhibition graphics, etc.
Engineering – technical support and manufacturingoperations.
About the Branch
The Museum and Public Engagement Branch (MaPE) is responsiblefor a diverse range of functions that connect the Royal AustralianMint with Australian citizens, customers, collectors and visitors.The Branch brings together coin and graphic design, productdevelopment and sales, museum operations,
digital platforms andpublic programs to create meaningful experiences and strengthenengagement with the Mint.
MaPE plays an important role in building awareness of the Mintand the National Coin Collection, educating the community about thesignificance of currency in Australian society, culture andhistory. Through exhibitions, programs, digital experiences andother engagement activities, the Branch brings the stories behindAustralia's coins to life and encourages the community to connectwith the Mint and its collections.
The Branch also delivers a significant commercial program forthe Mint through the design, development and sale of numismaticproducts for domestic and international markets. It drivesinnovation in product design and identifies opportunities totranslate the Mint's heritage, expertise and national significanceinto products and experiences that resonate with customers andcollectors.
Through its combined commercial, cultural and public engagementfunctions, MaPE seeks to build awareness, create meaningfulexperiences and develop lasting relationships between theAustralian community and the Royal Australian Mint.
About the Role
Assistant DirectorCommunications Stakeholder Engagement, will lead and manage a smallteam, working closely with the Director of Museum and PublicEngagement to effectively develop, execute and evaluate marketing,communication, media relations and stakeholder managementactivities for the Mint.
The position will be responsible for leading a team who developpromotions for collectible coin launches; create and share contentto shine a light on the Mint as a National Cultural Institution;and finding current and effective ways for the Mint to engage with thecommunity.
Assistant Director Communications Stakeholder Engagement willwork closely with the Director Museum and Public Engagement tofoster and establish connections with key stakeholders in thecommunity, to be the creative driving force behind engagementinitiatives and execute the goals of the ConnectionStrategy.
The position will lead a small team whose functions includemedia engagement, marketing, social media channel management andshort form digital content creation.
The Duties
Dynamically leading and managing a small team,including overseeing performance and development.
Providing formal and informal marketing andcommunications advice to the senior management.
Oversee and manage reporting requirements. Thisincludes providing data and analysis to the Senior leadership teamfor marketing and social media activities.
Track engagement metrics, analyse trends, andcompile qualitative and quantitative reports to measure theeffectiveness of engagement efforts.
Establishing, building and maintaining strongworking relationships with other sections across the Mint.
Applying marketing and communications expertise toinform a strategic well-developed and executed media and marketingoperational plan.
Proactively engaging with mainstream media togenerate publicity for the Mint.
Lead the development of digital marketing,including content marketing of the Mint business.
Design and implement comprehensive stakeholderengagement strategies to secure partnerships, foster collaboration,and build brand or agency reputation
Qualifications
An undergraduate degree or higher in marketing, communications,management or similar would be considered highly desirable.
Security
This position requires a Baselinesecurity clearance. Thesuccessful applicant will be required to obtainand maintain aclerarance at this level.
