Neoen's Energy Management Team is looking for a VIE Energy Markets Analyst to join its Australian Markets team.
n
The Energy Management team is responsible for overseeing and optimising their bidding strategies in Australia's energy markets, maintaining compliance with market & contractual constraints, and supporting Neoen's future expansion plans. The team is defined by a combination of market expertise, advanced quantitative capabilities and software development skills.
Key Tasks Include Market Analysis n
n
Monitor and analyse market activity and market performances of our operating assets in the NEM and the WEM
n
Assess market fundamentals and trends, including renewable penetration, curtailment risk, negative pricing dynamics, and grid constraint developments, and translate these into actionable insights for Neoen's strategy
n
Deliver long-term power markets analysis, leveraging external data sources and developing in-house views adapted to the Australian markets
n
Communicate analysis and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, internally and externally
n
Develop and implement tools to automate market monitoring, reporting and analysis tasks
n
Revenue modelling & Renewable development support n

Support Neoen Australia development teams in projecting revenues for future assets (batteries, wind, solar)
n
Build and continuously improve internal revenue and merchant risk models
n
Participate in offtake negotiations and valuation
n
Contribute to the development of innovative business models (Baseload PPAs, Virtual Battery, Hybrid installations...)
n

The candidate will need the following experiences/skills to be successful in this position :
Technical Skills n
n
Master's degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Energy, Data or Computer Science
n
Proficiency in Python, experience with version control (Git)
n
Knowledge in constrained optimization models (LP, MILP) would be a plus
n
Experience n
n
Minimum 1 year of experience in energy markets, power trading, market analysis
n
Exposure to renewable energy (wind, solar, batteries) is preferred
n
Language n
n
Fluent in English
n
