Winslow Infrastructure is involved in building Melbourne's vast Civil infrastructure network, with a strong portfolio of work in hand and a significant pipeline we are looking to build capacity in our Commercial Team. We are looking for a professional, engaged and organised Commercial Manager who is looking to take the next step in their career and wants to be part of shaping the future of civil construction with Winslow!
Being a portfolio position, this is not your typical Commercial Manager role, you will be involved in all aspects of the Commercial remit where you can showcase your knowledge and practical hands experience in support, guidance and advice across the business function.
Reporting to the BU Commercial Manager; the Commercial Manager, may in any typical day, be involved with;
Leading the Commercial function in work winning with a tender
Working with delivery and finance undertaking project establishment including contract summaries and risk management
Providing clear and practical advice and strategy with Contracts in execution,
Involved in Procurement activities in downstream subcontract and supply chain
Reviewing contact cost and performance positions for management review
Drafting correspondence to clients and supply chain
Your key role responsibilities would be to:
Lead contract reviews and participate in other aspects of the tender space including drafting and negotiating departures in support of tender submissions;
provide advice on Risk and Opportunity strategies for tender submissions
Take a lead role for the commercial administration on projects in delivery to ensure compliance and maintenance of Contractual rights and obligations
With project management teams identify and manage variations, EOT, and claims for projects
Guide delivery teams in all other delivery aspects to ensure project success,
including identification of program impacts.
Manage Procurement activities across multiple projects currently
Assist and when required manage monthly cost reporting as required
Here's what we are looking for...
Tertiary Qualification in Commerce, Accounting, QS or similar field.
Minimum 6-8 years' experience in a similar role or demonstrable experience as a commercial manager with a portfolio of delivered civil projects.
A sound understanding of Australian Standard construction contacts, contracting principles and practices and a solid understanding of R & O identification, principles and practices.
Sound MS Excel skills.
Ability to work autonomously in a fast paced environment.
Practical knowledge of cost control techniques and practices.
Ability to problem solve and an ability to make the complex simple, and
Willingness for Ad Hoc travel to project sites as required.
Preferred
Demonstrated experience in Cost Control within the SMP/Construction industry is desirable.
Sound understanding work winning practices and protocols in the Civil construction environment, and
Experience with construction, Jobpac, Docket book or ERP systems would be an advantage but not essential.
