Do you enjoy leading field-based work, mentoring others and helping deliver projects that make a real difference to Victoria's forests, parks and communities?
As a Forest and Fire Operations Officer - Technical Lead, you'll play an important role in coordinating and delivering a wide range of forest, fire and land management activities across public land.
You'll work closely with field crews and supervisors to plan, organise and deliver operational programs, while providing technical guidance and support to help teams achieve quality outcomes safely and efficiently.
This is a practical, hands-on role where no two days are the same.
One day you might be coordinating a recreation or road maintenance project, leading a crew in the field or undertaking site assessments.
The next, you could be mentoring staff, assisting with work planning, managing operational records or supporting the delivery of forest management programs.
When emergencies occur, you'll also contribute to bushfire response and recovery operations that protect communities and the environment.
Applicants must hold a current manual Drivers Licence (conditions A, I & V not acceptable for employment).
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge or experience working in bushfire response or forest operations is highly desirable.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience and understanding in natural resource management, preferably with good knowledge of forest management and forest operations.
This position is ongoing,
available in the regional location of Corryong, Victoria.

Preferred candidates will be required to undertake pre‐employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form, a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and meet the medical and fitness requirements outlined in the position description.
Successful applicants will be required to successfully complete the DEECA General Firefighter accreditation.
To be eligible for appointment to this role, applicants will possess corresponding work rights for the advertised employment period.
Appointment to an ongoing position is only available to an Australian/Recent Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.
