n An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Software Engineer / Developer to join IP Australia's AI Factory within Business Delivery Services.
n You'll work at the intersection of software engineering, AI and emerging technologies, delivering production capabilities alongside data scientists, machine learning engineers, business analysts and subject matter experts.
n This is an ideal prospect for a senior developer with strong Python and AWS experience who is interested in applying emerging technologies and AI within a government environment.

n Remote candidates may be considered within the same time zone. Offsite candidates will need to attend the Canberra office for 2-3 days during onboarding, with occasional travel to Canberra thereafter, typically twice and no more than four times per year. Travel is at the candidate's own expense.
What You'll Be Doing
n
n
n Develop and deliver software components alongside software developers, data scientists and ML engineers
n
n Build and maintain production capabilities within a multidisciplinary Agile team
n
n Deliver Proofs of Concept with Subject Matter Experts
n
n Develop solutions using AWS, particularly serverless technologies
n
n Contribute to the responsible application of AI and emerging technologies
n
n Maintain and continuously improve existing production systems
n
n Contribute to technical documentation, code quality and development practices
n
Essential Technical Experience n
n
n Python
n
n AWS, particularly serverless application development
n
n Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably AWS CDK
n
n CI/CD, particularly AWS CodePipeline
n
n DevOps tools and practices
n
n Experience delivering and maintaining production software
n
n Experience working within multidisciplinary software development teams
n
Desirable Experience n
n
n JavaScript and/or TypeScript
n
n Vue.js
n
n AI and Machine Learning
n
n MLOps
n
n Emerging AI technologies
n
Selection Criteria n
n Candidates will need to demonstrate:
1. AWS - 35%
n Experience building and maintaining solutions using AWS.
2. Python - 35%
n Experience building and maintaining software using Python.
3. DevOps - 20%
n Experience delivering software using DevOps tools and practices.
4. Government / Multidisciplinary Experience - 10%
n Experience working collaboratively within a dynamic, multidisciplinary software development team in a government agency.
