Shen Chinese Medicine Centre is seeking an experienced Remedial Massage Therapist to join our established therapeutic clinic in South Melbourne on a full-time basis.
This is a therapeutic and remedial massage position, not a general relaxation massage role.
The successful applicant will provide treatment to clients presenting with muscular tension, soft-tissue dysfunction, physical discomfort, injuries, mobility limitations and recovery requirements.
The role operates within a Chinese medicine treatment environment alongside practitioners providing Traditional Chinese Medicine services.
Key responsibilities
Conduct detailed client consultations and assess client history, injuries, muscle tension, joint mobility and soft-tissue dysfunction.
Implement appropriate therapeutic treatment techniques based on client assessments.
Perform remedial massage, deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, Tuina, trigger point therapy and other therapeutic massage techniques.
Massage muscles, tendons and ligaments to assist healing, rehabilitation and recovery.
Apply therapeutic techniques to relieve muscle tension, improve circulation and support physical recovery.
Provide rehabilitation advice, stretching guidance, posture advice and appropriate lifestyle recommendations.
Assist clients experiencing muscular strain, sports-related conditions,



injuries and recovery-related discomfort.
Monitor treatment progress and adjust treatment techniques according to client requirements.
Maintain accurate treatment records and progress notes.
Work collaboratively with Chinese medicine practitioners and other therapists.
About you
Diploma or higher qualification in Remedial Massage, Massage Therapy or a related discipline.
Minimum one years' experience as a Massage Therapist or in a related therapeutic or rehabilitation environment.
Extensive knowledge of human anatomy, muscles, soft tissues and recovery techniques.
Demonstrated experience in remedial and therapeutic massage.
Strong client consultation and communication skills.
Professional and client-focused approach.
Ability to work within a therapeutic clinical environment.
Knowledge or experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Tuina is highly regarded.
Salary of $80,000 per annum plus superannuation.
