Eyecare is looking for an energetic and commercially driven Optical Dispenser & Practice Manager to lead our two Mildura practices.
This is a hands-on dual role.
You'll lead and develop the team, manage practice operations and drive business performance while also working alongside the team as an Optical Dispenser.
You'll serve patients, recommend eyewear and contribute equally to dispensing and sales.
This is not a predominantly office-based position.
Your management responsibilities are performed in addition to—not instead of—actively contributing on the practice floor.
Above all, you must love engaging with people and selling.
You'll enjoy building rapport, uncovering each patient's needs, presenting complete eyewear solutions and confidently converting your recommendations into sales.
You'll also lead by example and coach your team to do the same.

Key Responsibilities
Optical Dispensing, Patient Care & Sales
As an active member of the dispensing team, you'll:
Welcome patients and build trusted relationships
Explore each patient's visual, lifestyle and style preferences




Recommend complete eyewear solutions to meet their individual needs
Help patients select frames that look and feel fantastic
Explain lens options and benefits in a explicit and engaging way
Take accurate measurements and coordinate spectacle orders
Confidently ask for the sale and contribute to practice targets
Manage collections, adjustments, repairs and aftercare
Deliver a premium experience throughout the patient journey
Our approach is consultative and needs-based.
We don't believe in pressure selling; however, we do believe every patient deserves to understand and be offered their complete ideal solution.
You must be comfortable making confident recommendations, discussing value and converting those recommendations into sales.
Leadership & Practice Management
You'll lead from the front by:
Coaching and developing the Mildura team to achieve high standards of patient care, sales and performance
Creating a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture
Setting clear expectations and providing regular feedback, support and recognition
Supporting recruitment, induction, training and performance management
Monitoring KPIs and implementing practical strategies to improve results
Helping the team understand the behaviours that drive successful patient and business outcomes
Coordinating rostering,



appointment management and team resources
Ensuring policies, procedures and agreed systems are followed consistently
Overseeing stock management, merchandising and practice presentation
Resolving patient and operational concerns professionally
Working closely with our senior management team to achieve practice goals
About You
You are a motivated leader with strong commercial awareness and excellent interpersonal skills.
You will ideally bring:
Proven success in sales and achieving targets.
Leadership, coaching, or team development experience.
Confidence recommending premium products and closing sales.
Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
A proactive, accountable, and resilient approach.
A genuine passion for customer service and team success.
Experience in optical dispensing, optometry, healthcare, or premium retail is advantageous but not essential.
Training & Development
For outstanding sales and leadership candidates new to the industry, comprehensive on-the-job optical training will be provided.
Candidates will also have the opportunity to undertake a Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing after demonstrating capability and commitment in the role.
