$80,000 to $85,800 per annum + Superannuation

About the Opportunity
Bayley House is seeking an experienced
Senior Support Worker
to join our Home & Living team on a permanent full-time basis.
This is an opportunity for an experienced disability support professional to combine hands‐on support with practice leadership, helping frontline staff deliver safe, high-quality and person‐centred services.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will role model best practice, coach and support Disability Support Workers, monitor the implementation of Individual Support Plans and contribute to positive outcomes for people with disability.
You will play an important role in promoting independence, choice, active support and community participation while helping maintain strong standards across safeguarding, quality and compliance.
About the Role
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Senior Support Worker provides practice leadership to frontline staff while supporting the delivery of individualised, person‐centred services.
You will role model effective support practices, provide coaching and feedback to team members and support the implementation and review of Individual Support Plans. You'll also help staff respond effectively to participants' changing needs and ensure supports align with individual preferences, goals and assessed needs.
The role has a strong focus on safeguarding, positive behaviour support, incident reporting, quality and continuous improvement. It also involves building productive relationships with families, carers, allied health professionals and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Promote and role model high-quality, person‐centred and active support.
Provide advice, coaching, training and feedback to Disability Support Workers.




Support staff to effectively implement Individual Support Plans.
Monitor participant needs and contribute to identifying and documenting required changes to support plans.
Monitor behaviour support plans and provide guidance on positive behaviour support, restrictive practices and active support.
Support participants to build skills, maximise independence and participate meaningfully within their community.
Promote participant choice, dignity, safety and wellbeing.
Maintain accurate and timely participant documentation.
Support timely reporting and management of incidents, near misses, risks and complaints.
Build and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, carers and other internal and external stakeholders.
Contribute to safeguarding, compliance, audits and continuous quality improvement.
Support safe work practices and ensure relevant training and operational requirements are maintained.
Work collaboratively with the Team Leader and broader Home & Living team.
The position also carries responsibilities relating to NDIS incident and restrictive-practice reporting, as outlined in the Position Description.
About You
You are an experienced disability support professional who is ready to take on greater responsibility for practice leadership and supporting the development of others.
You have a strong commitment to person‐centred and active support and understand the importance of safeguarding, quality and compliance within disability services.
You are approachable, organised and confident providing coaching and constructive feedback, and can build positive relationships with participants, colleagues, families and other stakeholders.
You Will Ideally Have
Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services or a related field.
Minimum two years' experience in disability support, including at least one year in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
Strong experience providing active support to people with disability.
Sound working knowledge of the disability sector and NDIS requirements.
Experience implementing Individual Support Plans and supporting positive behaviour support practices.
Strong leadership, coaching and team‐development skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational, documentation and record‐keeping skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to complex situations.
Confidence using systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications.
A Diploma or degree in Disability, Community Services or a related discipline would be highly regarded.




Prior to Commencing, All Employees Will Require
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Completion of relevant mandatory NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission training requirements.
