Canberra Consulting is seeking an experienced IT Applications Administrator for a 12-month non-ongoing EL1 opportunity with the Australian War Memorial, with the possibility of extension.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of critical business applications supporting a nationally significant museum, archive and commemorative institution. You will work closely with business teams, technical specialists and vendors to keep applications secure, reliable and aligned with operational needs.
What you'll do
You will administer and improve enterprise and collection-related applications, including Collection Management Systems, Digital Asset Management Systems, SaaS platforms and their supporting databases and integrations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing application configuration, troubleshooting, upgrades and releases.
Supporting integrations and data flows across applications, databases and cloud services.
Working with vendors and business stakeholders to deliver enhancements and resolve operational issues.
Supporting incident, problem and change management, service recovery and business continuity.
Maintaining technical documentation and ensuring applications meet relevant government security requirements.
What you'll bring
We are looking for an experienced applications skilled who combines strong technical capability with sound judgement, clear communication and the ability to manage competing priorities.
You will have experience in:
Administering enterprise applications in production environments.
Supporting integrations through APIs, middleware, ETL, scripting or automation.
Working with database platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or PostgreSQL.
Supporting ICT services within Australian Government or another highly regulated environment.
Working collaboratively with business stakeholders, software vendors and service providers.
A strong understanding of
Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
, including identity, authentication, integrations and security controls, is important.
Experience with
PowerShell, Piction, MuseumPlus or equivalent collection and digital asset management systems
will be valuable. Experience supporting museum, cultural institution, archival or digital preservation systems is highly desirable.
