Employment Support Worker
Internal Title: Disability Support Worker
Part-Time | $*****/hr | 40 hours per Fortnight | Newcastle, Lake Mac and Maitland Regions

to support people with disability to build skills, confidence and independence in workplace and supported employment settings.
You'll work alongside participants, providing hands-on coaching, encouragement and practical support to help them develop workplace skills, achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

About the Role
As an employment focus Disability Support Worker, you'll support people with disability to develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to achieve their employment goals.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing person-centred support in supported employment and workplace settings
Providing both workplace-based support and office-based employment services, including employment planning,



job readiness activities, goal setting, resume development, progress documentation and capacity-building supports
Coaching participants to build workplace skills and confidence
Delivering practical on-the-job support and mentoring
Encouraging inclusion, choice and active participation
Supporting communication, organisation and workplace readiness skills
Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate documentation
Collaborating with participants, employers and key stakeholders
Promoting safe work practices and positive employment outcomes
About You
You'll be passionate about helping others achieve their goals and committed to empowering people to reach their full potential.
To be successful, you'll bring:
Experience supporting people with disability or working in community, employment or vocational services
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A patient, supportive and person-centred approach
Strong organisational and administration skills
Confidence using Microsoft Office programs
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
A genuine commitment to inclusion and independence
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related field, or demonstrated experience in disability support, employment services, community services or a similar role




CurrentNDIS Worker Check and Working with Children Check
Current Driver Licence
Experience in coaching, mentoring, training or vocational support
Understanding of employment pathways and workplace skill development
