The Role
You will be based
Hume, ACT
, and
supervise all workshop operations
. You will look after heavy vehicles, forklifts, compactors and plant machinery. In this
hands‐on leadership
role you will supervise our internal team and coordinate the efforts of subcontractors.
n
What You'll Do
n
n
Lead your team
with hands‐on guidance and effective mentoring
n
Quickly diagnose and repair
our modern diesel trucks, forklifts, compactors, and plant equipment
n
Prioritize urgent breakdowns
to minimize downtime in a fast-paced environment
n
Schedule and coordinate maintenance
, ensuring all machinery remains service-ready and compliant
n
Manage procurement and inventory
, raise POs, order parts, track stock, and oversee admin
n
Maintain accurate records
of fleet logs, maintenance history, and compliance documentation
n
Serve as the key liaison
for suppliers, contractors, logistics, and operations teams
n
Enforce safety & compliance protocols
, including inductions, procedures, and contractor oversight
n
n
What You Bring
n
n
Qualified diesel mechanic




with an
HR driver's license
(mandatory)
n
Demonstrated experience with
heavy vehicles and plant machinery
n
Strong
procurement and inventory management
skills
n
Competency with
maintenance management systems
and basic IT tools
n
A
calm and adaptable
approach under pressure
n
Proven
leadership experience
, managing both employees and subcontractors
n
Excellent
communication and stakeholder liaison
abilities
n
