About the role
We are looking for two Summer Rangers to assist the dedicated park area team who look after Mornington Peninsula National Park during the peak summer period.
As a Summer Ranger, you are responsible for the management of Parks Victoria's estate, consistent with organisational priorities, policies and procedures, ensuring that park visitors can enjoy the outdoors while also protecting the things that make our parks special.
Thesefulltime, 3-month term positions offer the chance to get in on the action and support the ranger team this summer between November **** to February ****.
The positions are based at the Rosebud Parks Victoria work centre.
This role is physically demanding and will often involve manual outdoor field duties to be carried out on a daily, weekly or regular basis in all conditions, and, sometimes in semi-remote areas.
Candidates should have a reasonable level of fitness and health and without significant medical issues that will prevent undertaking the inherent tasks of a field based Ranger.
You will demonstrate a strong personal work ethic and actively participate and contribute to a agile and supportive team environment.
We're looking for someone with
Experience in customer service with good interpersonal skills and ability to confidently engage with visitors
Demonstrated experience in self-motivation, time management and working autonomously
Good manual handling skills in a range of field based maintenance tasks and practical use of tools and equipment
Completion or progress in a Conservation & Land Management qualification or similar would be an advantage
Available to work on weekends and public holidays.
(Min 10 weekend days over the 3-month term).
An interest and passion for environmental conservation, park management and providing quality visitor facilities.
