At ALS, we encourage you to dream big.When you join us, you'll be part of a global team harnessing the power of scientific testing and data-driven insights to build a healthier future.The roleALS Geochemistry in Orange is seeking Laboratory Assistants to join a team committed to exceeding client expectations by delivering high-quality results on time.The successful applicants will receive on-the-job training in the technical components and procedures of the role.These are full time roles with 8-hour shifts.
We are looking for two Laboratory Assistants to work the following rosters:Monday to Friday: 6:00 am to 2:00 pmMonday to Friday: 1:30 pm to 9:30 pmThis is a residential role, and to be considered, you must currently reside in or near Orange - NSW and have current Australian work rights.The day to dayWeigh, digest or fuse geological samples for analysisMaintain accurate records and documentationCalibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment as requiredAssess data quality to ensure it meets client reporting standardsGeneral housekeeping, including:Cleaning laboratory equipment, glassware and areaPerform sample preparation and manual handling may be required The essentialsA tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related field is desirable but not essentialExperience in a high-production laboratory (highly regarded)A basic understanding of analytical chemistry conceptsAbility to work with minimal supervisionStrong commitment to safety and adherence to HSE guidelinesAn enquiring mind and willingness to learnFlexibility and ability to work effectively within a team environmentAbility to multi-task and produce accurate resultsExcellent organisational, time management, and communication skillsAbility to work the stated rosters continuously, including public holidays and weekendsWorking at ALSThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.Our values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.At ALS, you'll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
