Our client, a financial services organisation, is looking for an experienced Synon Developer to support and enhance its business-critical lending platforms on an initial 9 month day rate contract.
Design, develop and maintain applications using Synon/CA 2E on IBM i (AS/400) Develop and modify RPG, RPGLE and CL programs Investigate and resolve production incidents, defects and data issues across Synon, RPG and DB2 Work with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver enhancements Write SQL queries and perform data analysis to support business and operational needs Monitor and troubleshoot IBM i environments, including job and performance monitoring Take part in release deployments and production validation
What you'll bring
Hands‐on experience developing and supporting applications with Synon/CA 2E on IBM i (AS/400)




Robust RPG, RPGLE and CL programming skills
Solid knowledge of IBM i systems and architecture
Experience with SQL and DB2
A background supporting large, complex legacy applications in production
Strong troubleshooting skills and clear communication with business stakeholders
Nice to have
Financial services, lending, mortgage or loan servicing experience
Experience in regulated, mission‐critical production environments
Exposure to web services, REST APIs or system integrations
Involvement in IBM i modernisation work
MUST be able to start by November **** at the latest.
