As the National Sales Manager you will be driving the sales strategy, team management and development of continued project pipeline for engineering & manufacturing projects across Australia.
This is a newly created role at the senior leadership level.
The successful candidate will set the national sales direction, build a high-performing team, and put in place the client.
As the National Sales Manager you will be responsible for the following:
Develop and deliver the national sales strategy and annual sales plan, aligned with the business's growth targets
Lead, coach and develop the national sales and business development team, setting explicit territories, targets and performance standard
Build team capability through recruitment, structure and a consistent sales methodology
Set priority sectors, key accounts and target projects nationally across infrastructure, mining, rail, water/utilities, defence and government
Drive expansion into new states and markets, building presence where the business is under-represented




Build and maintain executive-level relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, government agencies, asset owners, mining companies, OEMs and defence primes
Act as the senior commercial lead for strategic national accounts
Run a disciplined bid/no-bid governance process based on strategic fit, risk, margin and capacity
Work with estimating and engineering on pricing strategy, technical solutions, methodology, programme and risk
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing and contract conditions
Your professional background and industry experience will include:
7+ years of sales management experience with success in large engineering, infrastructure, surface mining, rail, water/utilities, defence or government infrastructure
Proven experience leading a sales or business development team, ideally at state or national level
Strong grasp of tender processes, construction contracts and commercial risk
Strong negotiation, presentation and written communication skills
