We're looking for an experienced
Senior Financial Accountant
to join our Finance team on a
12-month fixed term contract
. This is a hands‐on role supporting month‐end, financial reporting, balance sheet governance, statutory requirements and continuous improvement across our Finance function.

What you'll be doing
Deliver accurate and timely month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, allocations and supporting analysis
Prepare monthly financial reporting and investigate material variances, making sure issues are clearly explained, escalated and resolved
Own assigned balance sheet reconciliations and substantiation, ensuring reconciling items are documented, actioned and cleared within agreed timeframes
Maintain the integrity of general ledger data and support the consistent application of accounting policies, month‐end procedures and financial controls
Prepare schedules, analysis and supporting documentation for statutory reporting, external audit, tax, group reporting and other compliance requirements
Partner with our stores, Operations and Store Support teams to resolve finance queries and provide clear, practical and accurate financial guidance
Support cash flow, working capital and other finance analysis as required, identifying risks, trends and opportunities for management attention
Contribute to finance projects, system enhancements and process improvements, including standardisation, automation and improved documentation
Maintain effective working papers, process documentation and audit trails that support quality, continuity and efficient review

Success Profile
Strong financial accounting experience, ideally within a medium to large organisation
Solid experience across month‐end, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting
Strong attention to detail and a genuine focus on accuracy
The ability to investigate variances, identify issues and follow them through to resolution
Experience working with accounting systems and a strong understanding of financial controls and processes
Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across Finance and the broader business
A continuous improvement mindset and an interest in finding simpler and more efficient ways of working
CA/CPA qualification or working towards it would be highly regarded
