When families face complex challenges, theright support can help restore safety, strengthen relationships and create hopefor the future. As a Child and Family Practitioner, you'll walk alongsidefamilies as they heal, build confidence and move towards lasting change.
Based in Hamlyn Heights, you'll support children, youngpeople and parents experiencing complex and enduring challenges. Throughevidence-informed, trauma-aware support, you'll help families restore safety,strengthen parenting capacity and build the connections they need to moveforward. Working within Meli's Restoring family support stream, you'll partnerwith families and community services to respond to risk, promote healing andprevent disadvantage from continuing across generations. This is meaningfulwork where thoughtful practice, strong relationships and timely interventioncan help families create safer, healthier futures.
As a Child and FamilyPractitioner, you will:
Build trusted relationships with familiesthrough assertive outreach and tailored support.
Strengthen family capacity throughevidence-informed assessment, planning and intervention.
Coordinate services and partnerships thatimprove safety, stability and access to support.
Advocate for children and families whilecontributing to inclusive, high-quality practice.
Full time, ongoing position
1 FTE working 38 hours per week
$105,835 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging
What We're Looking For
Wevalue individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles.To succeed in this position,



you will have:
A relevant tertiary qualification in SocialWork, Psychology, Welfare Studies, Alcohol and Other Drugs, BehaviouralSciences or related field
Demonstrated understanding of managing complexcases with robust case practice including client advocacy, therapeuticinterventions and family support in line with evidence informed frameworks.
Demonstrated understanding of risk and needsassessments
Demonstrated knowledge of the factors thatcanimpact on a parent's ability to care for children and knowledge of the servicesystem and resources available that can support parents, children and youngpeople
