Indigeco is recruiting an APS6 Senior Project Officer for our Commonwealth Government client. This role will support national public health surveillance programs focused on antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced APS6 project professional with a background in health, science, public health, laboratory operations, microbiology, pathology, surveillance programs or broader government project delivery. Direct antimicrobial resistance experience is highly desirable, but not essential. The key requirement is strong project capability, the ability to work with complex scientific concepts, and the willingness to learn quickly on the job.
The role is expected to commence from 30 November **** and continue through to June ****, with an option to extend for up to 12 months.
THE COMPANY

You will be working within a highly technical program environment that supports nationally relevant surveillance outputs, stakeholder confidence and continuous improvement across public health systems.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Program Manager across end-to-end project and program coordination activities
Assist with contract, procurement and funding administration for surveillance programs
Coordinate stakeholder engagement with laboratories, service providers, internal teams and technical specialists
Support data governance processes, data request management and user access activities
Assist with onboarding, reintegration and ongoing coordination of contributing laboratories
Support the development, coordination and publication of reports, dashboards, communications and operational resources
Provide strategic and autonomous APS6-level support across program reporting, governance, risks, issues and continuous improvement activities

YOUR REQUIREMENTS
APS6-level project, program or coordination experience in a Commonwealth Government, health, scientific, regulatory or technical environment
Strong ability to provide strategic support to a Program Manager and work autonomously across assigned activities
Experience in contracts, procurement, funding administration or vendor coordination will be highly regarded
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence working across technical teams, laboratories, service providers and government stakeholders
Ability and willingness to learn complex scientific concepts related to antimicrobial resistance, microbiology and surveillance programs
Experience in antimicrobial resistance, microbiology, pathology, laboratory operations, public health surveillance, epidemiology or broader public health will be highly desirable
Current Baseline security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain Baseline clearance
YOUR PERKS
Hourly pay rate of $***** plus Super
Contract through to 30 June **** with option to extend for up to 12 months
