Maitland City Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our Building Services team.
Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving Council buildings, facilities, park furniture, fixtures and equipment across the Maitland region. Reporting to the Team Leader Building Trades, you'll undertake a diverse range of carpentry and joinery tasks while contributing to the delivery of high-quality services for our community.
You will be responsible for carrying out carpentry, joinery, maintenance, repair and construction activities across Council assets and facilities. This includes interpreting construction plans to ensure the accurate delivery of works, inspecting and verifying materials received on site, and maintaining high standards of workmanship. You will also respond to customer service requests, communicate progress and completion of works, and actively foster a safe, collaborative and customer focused team environment.
The Opportunity:
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will hold a Certificate III in Building and Construction and hold contemporary industry knowledge and demonstrate experience in small building related construction works, structure and maintenance.
You will have sound knowledge of carpentry related tools, equipment and their applications and have the ability to work productively as a member of a collaborative team.
Perks:
This is a full-time, permanent role working a 38-hour week, with a base salary range of $65,652 - $72,874 per year + Level 1 Adverse Allowance + 12% super.
The Building Services team currently works a 4-day compressed work week.
