About us:
The Intensive Care Unit at Cairns Hospital provides specialist critical care services for patients from across Far North Queensland, including rural, remote and Torres Strait communities. As part of the region's major referral hospital, the ICU delivers complex, high-level care within a dynamic multidisciplinary environment, supporting some of the most seriously ill patients in the region.

About you:
In your new role you will....
Deliver high-level evidence-based social work clinical services in accordance with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Code of Ethics; AASW professional practice standards; and relevant AASW Scope/s of Practice.
Provide high-level and strategic advocacy to address client needs and ensure equity and access to services.
Work autonomously and independently. Apply professional judgement and decision making to manage a complex and wide-ranging caseload, adapting routine and non-routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable clinical evidence.




Actively participate in and contribute to the business arrangements of the Social Work department including team meetings; workforce planning; quality improvement; and safety and clinical governance activities.
Take reasonable care for your own health, safety and well-being, and take reasonable care to ensure that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health, safety and well-being of others.
