In this role, you'll partner with employees across the organisation, providing trusted guidance on a broad range of people matters while helping leaders build confidence in managing their teams. About the role
As an
HR Advisor
, you will be a trusted member of the People & Culture team, providing timely, practical and high-quality advice to managers and employees across the Institute. Working closely with leaders, you'll support a broad range of people-related activities, help build manager capability and contribute to a positive employee experience across the organisation.
This is a varied generalist role that offers exposure across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, workforce planning, performance management, policy interpretation,



organisational change initiatives and continuous improvement projects. You'll play an important role in helping leaders make informed people decisions while ensuring consistency, compliance and best-practice people management.
The position is full time, ongoing and reports to the Manager, People & Culture Business Partnering. Salary for this role aligns to PACCT 6 $89,415-$95,981 plus 12% superannuation.
What you'll do:
Provide practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across a broad range of people matters.
Support leaders in managing performance, probation, conduct concerns and workplace issues.
Interpret and apply employment legislation, Enterprise Agreements, Awards, policies and procedures.
Coach and support managers to build confidence and capability in managing their teams.
Assist with recruitment activities, workforce planning initiatives and employee lifecycle processes.
Contribute to organisational change activities, People & Culture projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop practical tools, resources and guidance materials to support leader self-service and best-practice people management.
Support compliance activities and contribute to workforce reporting, insights and process improvements.
What You'll Bring
Experience in a HR Advisor, HR Consultant or similar advisory role.
Strong knowledge of employment legislation, Fair Work principles and industrial instruments (Victorian TAFE Teaching MEA & PACCT advantageous).
Experience partnering with managers to provide practical advice and support across a range of people matters.
The ability to build trusted relationships and deliver a high level of customer service.
Strong coaching, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent written skills, including the ability to prepare professional documentation and correspondence.
Sound judgement, professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive matters.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a quick-paced environment.
A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualification in Human Resources,



Business or similar
A current and valid Working with Children Check
A satisfactory National Police Check
The ability to work across Box Hill Institute campuses and other locations as required
